Making an Eco Friendly Straw Bale House in Hokkaido Japan

A new house/cafe under construction in HigashiKawa Town in Hokkaido. Much of the wood being used is recycled lumber from older buildings. The main logs are new wood. The insulation for the house/cafe, consists of bales of rice straw, harvested from the rice field across the street and behind me. Filmed on 2009 August 8 in HigashiKawa Town, Hokkaido Japan.
